Ketambe is a small and charming, quiet and remote village in the southernmost part of Aceh, Ketambe is the official entrance to Gunung Leuser National Park to see wild Sumatran Orangutans, black and white gibbons, hornbills, Thomas leaf monkeys, bird monkeys as well as the exotic Rafflesia Arnoldi and fauna. and other endemic Sumatran flora as well as hundreds of large trees, clean and freshwater rivers and hot springs deep in the dense tropical rainforest. This is a hidden paradise for wildlife lovers.
Jungle Trekking Ketambe explores the beauty of Sumatra's dense tropical rainforest. The best time to visit Ketambe is between June–October. This is fruit season where wild Sumatran orangutans, hornbills, Thomas leaf monkeys and other endemic Sumatran wildlife search for food.
